Also, I think I might do some album reviews and some movie reviews. So there's that, too.
An album review:
Sam Roberts is the man. He's a formerly promising young hockey player from Canada and his only LP is We Were Born In A Flame. The music is fun and catchy and just generally a blast to listen to. It's nothing you haven't heard before, especially if you dig the vocal stylings of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, or Paul McCartney. But the music is so well done and honest about it's influences that it's easy to get into it on the first listen without feeling like you might as well be lsitening to those other greats instead. It's been said a million times before, but there really isnt a bad track on the disc. Anyway, the standout tracks: Hard Road, Brother Down, Taj Mahal, Higher Learning, and Dead End. Beware that sometimes the individual songs can be a bit of bummer until the album reveals itself as a whole.
War is Dead. (just thought I throw out that reminder 'cause I know what it's like to forget sometimes)
The day starts early tomorrow (10am? Life isnt hard these days). But I am determined to wake up much earlier and go by milk at Publix. I'm assuming the check out girl has no idea the stench that will greet her tommorow. But come on, does anyone smell good that early? And whats wrong with a little scent scruff. But who knows? Maybe its perfectly clear to her. Besdies, most of the people that work at Publix (at least mine) are pretty old. Which is to say wise. I've heard your sense of smell dulls with age. So no harm anyway. Its not like I'll be poisening the air anyway, it'll be more in line with a gentle spritzing. What the hell am I talking about? What I meant to say was that after milk and cereal (a mainstay) I'm gonna work out. I swear. Hold me to it.
